Skate Night at Skateland!!
02/04/2004 11:22 PM
My mood

Ohmigosh, ohmigosh! I know it's way past the time I like to be up, but I know I won't be able to get to sleep easily, especially if I don't type out this entry now, before I forget everything.

Skate Night at Skateland was SO MUCH FUN!! I am SO glad I went!!! Here's all the details (that I feel like writing right now XP).

My parents and I picked up Kayla from her house a little after 6:00, and we were at Skateland no later than 6:45. Just as my mom, Rick, Kayla, and I were getting out of the car, my other friends that were coming (Nicole, Sarah, and Kristen) walked by us. We all started chatting as we made our way to the entrance. I felt awkward and nervous being there in my "normal" clothes while hanging around people I had only seen in uniforms at school. The feeling wore off soon, though.

After paying for our admission, getting our skates and wrist bands on, and getting our stuff stored away, we all kinda split up. (It's not that big of a place, so you can't really "split up.") Sarah and Kristen sat on the benches (Kristen didn't come to skate.... She just hanged around the whole evening. *Shrug*), Nicole went out on the rink, and I visited the bathroom with Kayla.

So for the next hour or so (it hardly felt that long!) we all skated around the rink at various times. I stayed on until they started having Couples' Skate. At that time I tried to get Kayla to find John and ask him to skate with her, while I joked I needed to find Joey.

I stayed off the rinked for a while and just pulled Sarah around the building. I had brought my digital camera, so there came a time when my friends started to get a picture of Joey. (Deja vu! Sounds like the last day of 8th grade, eh?) My friends eventually drove Joey into hiding in an out-of-order picture booth and pissed him off so much that he said,"Get. That. Camera. Away. From. Me. I. Will. Call. Security."

While all of this was happening, Nicole and I kept checking the request list for songs played while everyone was skating, and we kept writing down "Invisible," but the guy didn't play it. We wound up writing the song request in big, bold, capital letters, but the guy still didn't play it even after he said he would. This drove Nicole to take up three or four lines while writing "Invisible" once again in big, bold letters. After this attempt also failed, she pratically cussed him out.

A couple of songs later, my friends and I were gathered around one of the trash cans, just chatting, when we hear the familar first notes of a song. "INVISIBLE!" I squealed in delight, and there were similar reactions from my friends. We all started scrambling to the rink entrance, tripping over in other on the way. People started getting off (CLAY HATERS! *HISS!*), so the rink was less crowded for my friends and me to enjoy. (Joey was still skating, though! ^_~) I had the biggest grin on my face and I was having the best time! I was so giddy and I felt like the song was playing just for me! XP I softly sang along to the verses, and Kayla sang the chrous each time (it's all she knows.) I thanked Nicole every time she passed me in the rink. Just wish the song had lasted another.. hour. Heh!

About fifteen minutes before everyone had to leave, Kayla took off her skates. Sarah and I continued to skate until the last song finished, and so did Nicole. I was so tired and sore because while I have strong calves, my thighs are weak, and it takes a lot of strength to pull a person around and around a skating rink! :P

This was one fun night. All in all, I think I skated pretty darn well. I didn't fall at all and I nearly lost my balance only a couple of times when I was pulling Sarah around the rink. It's funny because Kayla was bragging about how well she could skate, but she's the one that was falling down. Then again, she was trying to dance and do silly things while skating.

I coulda explanifacated (yes, that's a word!) the evening so much better and actually could've put for emotion into it so you could see how much fun it was, but forgive it, I'm tired! :P

I can't wait until the next Skate Night!!!! I am SO gonna drag Jake to go next time.

I've finished talking about Skate Night, so here's some other stuff.

I got my graded Health final back today. I am very pleased with my 100%! Yesterday or the day before that, Jake shoved his 97% Health final in my face and gloated, so it was so sweet to wave my 100% in his face. "Aw, I hate you so much!!" he joked.

Speaking of jokes, Jordan S. was doing the funniest thing this morning before World Studies started. I hope I can explain it well enough for you to fully appreciate the humor. Jordan went into the room next to our first-period classroom and crouched down on the floor by the doorframe that connects the two rooms. He bent over so all we could see was his upper body, and he proceded to do "push-ups," when in reality, he was sitting on his knees. First he started our just doing normal push ups, and then he got a little more creative. He started pushing himself off the ground, float there for a second, and then go back down. Or he started to clap his hands between each push-up. One of the funniest of his imaginative push-ups was when he pushed himself up, floated around kind of like a ghost, moved around, kind of like a matrix, and went back down. I guess you had to be there to fully appreciate it, but I got tears in my eyes from laughing.

Word Processing was a bit better today. I guess someone complained to the teacher or something because we didn't take notes today. She, the teacher, said that she thought mabe the stuff was too much of beginner's stuff. (GEE, YA THINK??) Anyway, we started in our Office 2000 books and followed the instructions. The lessons were stupid stuff like how to type, save a document, close it, and then open it again. I just worked at my own speed and got a few sections ahead of everyone else. I hope we can do that again tomorrow.

It's after midnight now. I better get some sleep. I'm gonna be so tired tomorrow. Wish tomorrow was Saturday, because tonight sure as heck felt like Friday.

Well, goodnight! :)
