Stereotypical Friday the 13th
02/13/2004 10:55 PM
Wow, it's been over a week since I've updated.
I didn't have the best day today. I blame the date.
Damn Friday the 13th.
Firstly, I woke up in a horrible mood for some reason. I just didn't want to get out of bed, and my mom ripping off my covers added on to it.
Secondly, I was even more late leaving the house than usual. I dunno how that happened -- when I finally got out of bed, I had ten minutes to get dressed and ready, and when I had only finished washing my face, I was five minutes late.
Thirdly, my allergies have been driving me nuts. I think I've grown immune to my allergy medicine because it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Now my nose is always either running, stuffed up, or both. And I must have post-nasal drip because I've had a sore throat the past week. But today it was the worst. My voice sound weird if I didn't speak mono-toned, but that wasn't too bad -- I got a laugh out of it at lunch. Nicole had hidden someone's backpack, and when the guy didn't notice after several minutes that it was gone, I yelled out his name,"HOSEA!" but it came out in a hoarse, deep voice that tickled my throat. Kayla said,"Jeannette, that sounded kinda man-ish!" and my friends and I laughed.
I'm getting off track, though.
Probably the biggest reason why I feel the way I do right now is because of something depressing that happened suddenly at school. Apparently this is how the story goes: In 9A's English class third period, Desmond didn't have half of his homework assignment done, and Miss Nuoffer got mad and sent him to the office to call his dad and said that he wouldn't be coming back to the school.
Before school ended this afternoon, everyone in my class was standing around Desmond, saying their goodbyes. He was crying.
I wanna be mad at Miss Nuoffer for what she did, like everyone else is, but Miss Nuoffer isn't the kind of person to lose her temper. She always has a reason for what she does. Desmond wasn't exactly the best student. He talked back to the teachers and was stubborn in his ignorance. But I mean, even after all of that, even though he teased me, he was one of my friends and I'll miss seeing him around school. I'll miss calling him Creepy Bastard. (Inside joke.)
But it's not too bad. At least he's not moving. Kayla can still call Desmond and talk to him when she wants. I'm just glad I gave him a Candy Gram this time.
Oh, yes, despite it being Friday the 13th, it was also the last day of school before Valentine's Day. If anything was to happen between me and my crush, today would've been the best day, but, alas, nothing did happen because my life is not a movie. Though, I did have a pocket full of candy all day, yum! I had a piece of bubble gum from Melanie, a peppermint stick from Kristen, some candy I brought from home, and a couple of other things.
I got seven of the school's Candy Grams from my friends this time around. (The Candy Grams are sold at every major holiday like Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter; and last time [Christmas] I didn't get any grams. All my friends were shocked I didn't get any. It just so happened all my friends were broken at the same time. :P) I got two from Tiffany (she signed one from Joey XP), one from Laura (thank you, Laura! I feel bad I didn't get you one), two from Kay La, one from Melanie (thanks, Melanie! I feel bad that I didn't get you one either), and one from Jake.
I bought fourteen grams -- I dunno how I coulda missed getting Laura one! (But I dunno why Melanie got me a gram. We don't really talk, so I wasn't expecting one from her.)
Speaking of the buying and selling of grams -- Kayla bought twenty grams, and ran outta people to send them to. So I gave her a random idea. "Send one to John from Joey!" I said. She thought it was a great idea, because the other day John was going around hugging everyone, and he wound up hugging Joey. After the candy grams were passed out this afternoon, Kayla and I saw John talking with one of his friends, looking at his candy grams with a confused look on his face. *Holds back evil laugh* I just hope the small prank doesn't turn into something bigger and doesn't get me and Kayla in trouble. o_O
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Three day weekend!! Ohmigosh I'm gonna sleep. Sleep so much. Starting now.
Maybe if I sleep long enough, I can dream and actually have my Valentine on Valentine's Day.
Goodnight all.
