My Opinion
06/04/2004 12:38 PM So my thoughts on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I swear I will try not to fangirl. The movie was awesome. I wanna see it again today. Just gotta find someone to go with. Kayla and I got at the theater at ten o'clock, got some snacks, and waited outside the theater we were sent to which wasn't the imax theater. There was a long line of dedicated fans waiting to go inside the imax. Our theater was full of a bunch of dorks who don't know how to have fun. I'll explain later. After not too long of sitting outside the theater, two women that worked at the theater came and talked to me and Kayla. They checked our tickets and told us the tickets were for JUNE 4TH's midnight showing. I was thinking,"What the fuck, this can't be happening!" but I kept my disappointment in. I explained to them that Rick had even checked with the people that sold him the tickets that they were the ticket for the first midnight showing, and they explained that those people don't always know the right times. I started to pack up my stuff when the lady said that we could go to the midnight showing for tonight which was at another theater down the hall. I thanked here, feeling sooo grateful. The other theater had only two groups of friends waiting, so I felt less anxious about getting my favorite seats. Kayla, as expected, was quite embarrassing, talking very loudly about anything that came to her mind, but once packs of Harry Potter legos were passed out to everyone in line, she got more quiet. I don't remember what time we were let into the theater, but it didn't seem to take very long after that for the movie to start. Kayla and I got to sit in my favorite seats, and we had the whole row to ourselves except for a couple of people sitting at the end. The previews were murder to get through. They seemed to go on for so long, but finally the movie started and there was some scattered applause and a few "woo"s that weren't very enthusiastic for Harry Potter fans! The movie seemed to go by extremely too fast even in the beginning. And once Harry was at Hogwarts, I was squeeing like CRAZY!! I must've been driving Kayla nuts. Every time Matthew or Alan came on screen, I pointed at them and yelled their name in a whisper. I was squirming in my seat throughout the whole movie, and I was shaking like mad towards the beginning. Surprisingly, I didn't feel tired at all last night until I got to the car and relized it was nearly three in the morning. I had one of those headaches you get when you stay up too late, and I was just glad that I was able to skip school today. I'm actually rather glad Jake wasn't able to go. I know I wouldn't have had as much fun with him as I did with Kayla. Jake would've never found the squeaking theater chairs as amusing as much as Kayla did, and he wouldn't've stayed with me through all the credits to point out familiar first names and laugh at them. (By the way, there were no Jeannette's in the credits, but there was a Janette, a Jake, lots of Kates, lots of Pauls, and lots of Johns.) And when the credits were done, Jake wouldn't yell out,"WE LOVE ALAN RICKMAN! HE'S SO SEXY!" like Kayla did. XP So my thoughts on the movie without any real spoilers: Draco was more annoying than a bully. Buckbeak was adorable. I'm not sure if Lupin's my favorite character anymore, and I fancy Snape less (but I'll rant a little about that later). The trio can really act now, which is fantastic! Rupert is officially one of my boys now. I love Matthew even more (but I still weep over him having to wear those teeth!). There were a lot of rather cute Harry and Hermione moments, but there weren't enough Ron and Hermione romantic moments I don't think. Sirius is one crazy mofo when he wants to kill someone. Peter Pettigrew is one nasty dude. The movie was quite funny; I was laughing a lot, but I guess I could've been in a giggly mood. So I don't think I fancy Snape as much because he wasn't very sexy in this movie. He was just as he was suppose to be in the books: a slimy, old, greasy git. I guess I should think of that as a good thing because he was like he was in the books, but how can you have Alan Rickman play Snape and not let him be the sex god that he is! (I find it very amusing that if I knew two years ago when started this diary that I'd be ranting about Severus Snape not being a sexy-enough bitch, I would run and hide in a corner.) So now I'm waiting for school to let out so I can call some of my friends and see if any of them can see it with me this afternoon. I'll probably have more to add later, but for right now I can't think of anything else to say. I think I'll try and put together a decent layout and maybe update Aiken Designs finally.
